Along with geting the blessings of lord Male Mahadeshwara, this place is also good for tourism. The surrounding nature is very beautiful to watch and there are near by palaces to visit too, like Shivana samudra and Talakadu etc.,

MM Hills - Male Mahadeshwara hills is one of the sacred temples of South India.
It's believed that Sri Mahadeshwara - an Avatara of Lord Shiva from from around 15th century.
The temple is located around 140 kms from Mysuru and 80 kms from Kollegala. There are Many private and government buses are available to visit the place. The hills is completely covered by forest.
About temple:
Temple gopuram is recently renovated and looks splendid. Temple covers around 3 to 4 acres. Also there is Nandi behind the temple.

During Deepavali, Ugadhi and Mahashivratri festivals, the crowd will be very huge as there will be a special pooje. So it's better to avoid during those times. Even during Amavasye and Hunnime there will be a decent crowd.

For darshana there's a special entrance. Apart from that one can get Laddu or other prasada at the counter by paying the required amount.

Temple is very well and cleanly maintened. And also there's a huge auditorium or kind of shelter which will hold atleast 3 thousand people at a time.

Every day there will be special services such as Gold ratha and other Ratha services.

The temple also offers Anna prasada.. serves food 3 times a day for all the devotees.

Awesome place and a very adventurous route for a long bike ride . Be careful while driving in the ghat section as the visibility is low and y'all know KSRTC drivers show now mercy to anyone trying to overtake in their lane , I almost got crushed x'0 . Drive safe and happy journey.

Beautiful place to spend a day. The temple premise is very enchanting and the township needs to be cleaned a lot. It’s a lot lot better than what it was 20 years ago. But given the nationwide drive for hygiene and cleanliness, this place desires a lot of improvements in terms of cleanliness.

The place is full of devotees at any given point in time. So it is always a great place to visit.

Good Divine place. The temple premises are clean. But no separate senior citizen entry. Special entry is ₹250 and ₹500. Little costly.

An ancient Temple of MAHADESWARA, and as it is situated on Hill it is known as MALAI MAHADESWARA.
After Darshan one can have breakfast/ meals at Dasoha Bhavana, free of cost.
Accommodation are available through temple website. No private hotels available.
Drinking water is scarce.
