1. Felt the peace of mind being there
2. Reminiscent of the heyday of Kashmir when pandits and Muslims co-existed peacefully.
3. Gives an indication of regaining the lost togetherness
4. Great environment
5. Nine Chinar in the premises

Khir Bhawani or Kshir Bhawani is a beautiful Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. The place is surrounded by Maple trees. It is about 85 Kilometers from Srinagar city via Gandarbal. The best time to visit this temple in during the kheer Bhawani Mela which is celebrated every year. This temple is very peaceful, if you are travelling in this region a visit to it can rejuvenate you. But please do take precaution as it is situated near to forest division Kupwara which presently is a disturbed area.

Kheer Bhawani/Ksheer Bhawani is a temple dedicated to the Goddess Kheer Bhavani (Maharagnya Bhagwati) constructed over a sacred spring. The worship of Kheer Bhawani is universal among the Hindus of Kashmir. The temple is situated at a distance of 14 miles east of Srinagar near the village of Tul Mul. The term kheer refers to rice pudding that is offered in the spring to propitiate the Goddess, which became part of the name of the temple

“KHEER BHAWANI TEMPLE”, situated in Tulamulla, Kashmir, in the middle of a spring & most sacred to Kashmiri pandits is among the living Hindu heritage Sites in Kashmir. It symbolizes the goodness “Ragnya Devi” believed to be another from the “Durga Mata” & is affectionately known as “Kheer Bhawani” because of the tradition of offering “Kheer” by large number of devotees to the sacred spring. The legend associated with the temple goes that “Ravana” worshipped mother “Rangya” who showered her blessings on his kingdom. The Goddess thus resided in Srilanka. Letter on due to Ravanas misdeeds the Goddess cursed him and ordered “Hanuma” to take her to the Satisar (Kashmir) a place cut off from the outside world by snow clad mountains. The mother along with her 360 nagas was installed in the Kheer Bhawani Temple, Tulamulla, Kashmir, exclusively preferring milk, sugar and all vegetarian from of offerings.
