Very ancient temple at the city centre. There are about 250 steps to climb. Scenery from outside the temple on a clear day is beautiful. Sri Shankaracharya is said to have meditated here for about 6 months here before proceeding towards Himalayas. A must visit place for all tourists.

A picturesque location. A must visit in Srinagar. A place of historical importance for Hindus. A very good temple. Need to ascend and descend 240 steps one side.

Lord Shiva 🔱🧘 Beautiful and ancient temple
This has been named because of a Shiva Temple established by His Holiness Jagadguru Shankaracharya himself. The entire structure is built of rocks and there are 264 stairs to climb. You can view the entire Srinagar atop this temple. A very sacred place.

Nice temple located on a hill near Dal Lake. The temple dates back to 16th century. You have to climb 250 stairs after which can have a panoramic view of the whole Srinagar city.

Must Visit !

Peaceful place, nice scenic view. One could have bird's view of most of Srinagar from here. Be careful of autowallahs, they will intimidate with long journey and lots of steps, while the journey was of app. 1 km the steps were not intimidating.

More than 250 steps need to be covered to reach at the top. Very beautiful view from the temple. Spend 1 hour time there worth visiting. The aged person must take rest in between because of height.
