Temple is named after 'Banguin Mata' or 'Bambuin Mata'. Legends had that once in time the graven image (ghasiyan) of Maa Jalpa was being carried by villagers to their village 'Bari' but near village 'Haar' Mata refused to go any further (as the graven idol became heavy enough to lift). The villagers placed it near a bnayan tree and constructed a small temple of stones around it. As the man who constructed temple bragged about it, Mata demolished the constructed temple and took shelter in banyan tree (though for me it might be banyan tree taken over the old temple stones through its roots). At present the old banyan tree is dying due to over construction around it that definitely is draining it from essential water intake. May the legends be true and Mata demolish the human construction around it once again to save Her natural habitat.
A peaceful, spiritual and must pay visit place.
