This is the most famous temple of Chattisgarh state. You can see written "Jai Danteshwari Maa" almost on all commercial vehicles in Chattisgarh, which shows how much people are devoted to this temple. It's a very well maintained temple. A huge parking space is available for vehicles. Devotees come here in all seasons.

Danteshwari Temple is temple dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari, and is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas , shrines of Shakti , the divine feminine, spread across India . The temple built in the 14th century, is situated in Dantewada , a town situated 80 km from Jagdalpur Tehsil, Chhattisgarh. Dantewada is named after the Goddess Danteshwari, the presiding deity of the earlier Kakatiya rulers. Traditionally she is the Kuldevi (family goddess) of Bastar state.

Ancient Danteshwari temple, the place Dantewada is named after Goddess Danteshwari. She is the chief deity of the local population as well as of the Royal House if Bastar.

There’s a lot to tell about the history of this temple and Mata Danteshwari but that isn’t needed here.

There is a tower outside the temple, it is said that if you can hug it from behind and are able touch your hands from the back, then your wishes come true.

Going inside the garbha griha is not allowed since the Pandemic. During aarti you can listen to the traditional music instruments being played here.

Very spiritual place. Here is the info given below about the temple...

This temple is as according legends, the spot where the Daanth or Tooth of Sati fell, during the episode when all the Shakti shrines were created in the Satya Yuga.

Every year during Dusshera thousands of tribals from surrounding villages and jungles gather here to pay homage to the goddess, when her idol was taken out of that ancient Danteshwari temple and then taken around the city in an elaborate procession, now a popular tourist attraction part of the 'Bastar Dussehra' festival.[4][5] There also a is tradition of lighting Jyoti Kalashas during Navaratris here, devotee walk more than 100km to visit danteshwari mandir during navratri to show their affection and devotion towards danteshwari mata..

A very famous and one of the holiest temples in Chhattisgarh. It's a "shaktipeeth", here the tooth of Devi Sati is believed to have fallen. Must visit this temple in Dantewada if you visit Jagdalpur. The road is awesome. Place is beautiful, lush greenery. The confluence of Sankini-Dankini rivers is just behind the temple.

when Lord Shiva performed his Tandav that destroyed most of the Universe, a part of 52 pieces of Maa Durga - Tooth ( Daant ) fell at the confluence of rivers Shankini & Dankini. Hence, this place got the status of a Shakti Peeth, whereat Maa Danteshwari is worshipped.

It is a beautiful Temple divided into four parts - Sabha Mandap, Maha Mandap, Mukhya Mandap and Sanctum Sanctorum. Males can enter the Mukhya Mandap only after wearing a Dhoti ( provided free by the Temple ).
