This temple is one of the oldest in the locality and the cultural hall here is a well respected stage for drama events. Durga Puja is celebrated annually with grandeur that sees devotees from all over Jorhat flock in. The place is located roughly a kilometer from Jorhat ISBT.

Actually it a premier social organisation of Jorhat promoting art and culture of Assam, it has an auditorium which is under renovation presently, and a Hindu tample organises various pujas such as Durga puja, Lakshmi puja, Gonesh puja, Kali puja, Holy phakua etc. People may perform marriage ceremony ,pertyetc.
