Devi Dol is situated at the same campus with Siva Dol. The Dol or temple was built in 1733 AD by Ahom queen Ambika Kunwari, the wife of Ahom king Siva Singha. The queen built the Temple to worship goddess Durga (the goddess of power). The temple environment is very pleasant. The information booklet shows the height of the temple is about 10.25 meters and the perimeter is 40.54 meters.

Dedicated to Goddess Durga, Devi Dol is a centuries old temple located in Sivasagar district, Assam. Durga puja is celebrated every year in this temple that is attended by a large number of people from every part of the country.

The temple has sculptural representations belonging to the three sects of Hindus, Saivism, Vaisnavism and Saktism. At the foot of the hill and covering the extensive area are found a good number of Siva Lingas cut out of granite stone. As a local tradition has it, there were about 99,999 lingas and these were established with a view to make this town a second Kasi.

How to reach: Taxis and tempos are available to reach the temple❤️

Beautiful ancient temple complex. Few marble steps are laid recently which according to me spoil the ancient look. However, the structure is elegant and one may feel very spiritual. Must visit in Sivasagar.

Devi Dol of Sibasagar was built by Queen Madambika, wife of Ahom king Swargadeo Shiva Singha in the year 1734. The Devi Dol is dedicated to Goddess Durga, the Hindu Goddess of 'Power'. It is 60 feet in height and 120 feet in diameter. There is a special space for worship beside the temple. This is 'bolisthal' (sacrifice place) and is used only during Durga Puja and Kali puja. The temple is situated on the bank Joysagar Tank
