I was told that the idol is about 150 years old. Another significance is that this temple is one of the 13 Hanumath Kshetras. Along with this temple there are temples of Ganesha, Suryanarayana, Dattatreya etc. All the idols have some unique appeal. This temple is ideal for those who wish to do sadhana. There are limited and simple facilities for sadhana. It is easy to reach the temple if one has own transport. I went there by taking a share auto from Gannavaram centre to Chikkavaram village. The same auto can take to the temple for extra charge.
