Aiyur Forest Rest House

The Aiyur Forest Rest House is a less frequented place amongst tourists. The best time to visit the place is during monsoon and winter. The approach road going through Dhenkanikottai is single lane but properly maintained. There is option of night stay and room rents are around 2200/- for the double bed rooms and 4000/- for the bungalow room. Room booking can be done by calling the authorities. There is ample open space for parking and for kids to play. If someone is visiting for half a day there is option for carrying own food or self cooking as well. Carry your supplies and utensils etc.
The maintenance of the place is not top class, possibly because it does not receive many visitors, but the location is nice. There is a elephant watch tower at a 15 minutes driving distance into the forest route. Entry fee for cars is Rs 50/-
Wish to visit again during monsoons or winter.

Stay is good and clean.. staff are approachable. No in-store cafeteria or pantry. We have to get our own stuff,they will cook it for us

Cost wise is too much considering without food

Nothing is there. Tourism board have to look at it and develop the place to attract tourists. The road that leads to this place is superb and you will enjoy the scenary. You will find some elephants inside the forest, but have to be careful if you travel inside the forest

- We visited this place on Jul 9/10 with a group of friends.
- We picked the Mid forest watch tower to stay and was a superb experience. Almost no lights around 5 - 10 kms radius..
- The watch tower was powered by solar panels.
- Room was tidy. Just right for 2 people.
- Watch tower is approx 4 kms inside the forest.
- You can take the bikes easily to that place, bit off-roading.. Rough terrain at some places, slippery at a few places.. Great ride I must say.
- If you choose to stay in watch tower, food will be prepared by Forest dept at their rest house and better to pick it before the night fall.
- Not recommended to step out from watch tower in the night. It is pitch dark.
- Lovely climate, around 20 degrees in the night..Should be less during the rainy or winter season.
- Overall great place for bike riders, riding thru some steep curvy ghat roads.

We were passing by on the way to Bettamugilalam. Mostly off road type road with no road in patches and pretty narrow. Good day ride, I was on a Duc scrambler so this terrain is pretty much what it lives for. The scenery is just amazing , can't belive we have such places left. 🌟

It is a very beautiful place and a pleasant stay without any disturbance.

Beautiful place in between in the forest. Very reasonable pricing. Just bring your vegetables and chicken, they prepare delicious meals.

This is a reserved forest where there is a resort to stay and chill... The location is really pleasant for family as well as bachelors to enjoy.... Cook is also available for food preparation... Can go for a forest trek as well. One can view the nature's beauty while travelling to this spot...
