नगर परिषद सवाई माधोपुर का यह ऑफिस कोटा सवाई माधोपुर मथुरा स्टेट हाईवे पर स्थित है। नगर परिषद का काम औसत दर्जे का है। जो कि छोटे-मोटे नियमित वर्क तो करती है। लेकिन स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के प्रति नगर परिषद का रवैया बेहद निम्न स्तर का है। इसका अंदाजा 2019 और उससे पूर्व के वर्षों के स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण सूची को देखकर लगाया जा सकता है। जबकि सवाई माधोपुर पर्यटन के मानचित्र पर एक महत्वपूर्ण शहर है। लोगों में सफाई, खूबसूरती, नगर नियोजन के प्रति जागरूकता बड़े, इसके लिए कोई रचनात्मक पहल यहां नहीं की गई है। जैसा कि हम अन्य भारत के शहरों में देखते हैं। शहर में एडवर्टाइजमेंट को लेकर कोई निर्धारित पॉलिसी ना होने की वजह से कोई भी व्यक्ति,संस्था अपना विज्ञापन अपनी मर्जी से कहीं भी लगा देते हैं। इसके लिए शहर में स्थान निर्धारित होने चाहिए। साथ ही भारत के अन्य शहरों में अपने कल्चर,सभ्यता को दर्शाते हुए, शहर के मुख्य चौराहों या चुनिंदा दीवारों पर पेंटिंग्स की जाती है जिसमें अपनी सभ्यता के अलावा किसी भी तरह का संदेश, चाहे वह स्वच्छता, स्वास्थ्य, शहर का मेप, परिवहन या सड़क सुरक्षा, अभ्यारण,गणेश जी का हो... इस बात को रचनात्मक चित्रकारी से बखूबी दर्शाया जा सकता है। लेकिन सवाई माधोपुर मैं इस चित्रकारी के नाम पर शून्य के सिवा, मुझे कुछ नजर नहीं आता है। जबकि रणथंबोर राष्ट्रीय अभ्यारण के होते हुए, अनेकों पर्यटक यहां आते हैं। और केवल अभ्यारण की खूबसूरती को देखने के बाद जब वे शहर में आकर इस शहर की नॉन क्रिएटिविटी को देखते है तो देख कर मायूस होते हैं। केवल सवाई माधोपुर रेलवे स्टेशन पर जरूर कुछ क्रिएटिविटी आपको नजर आती है। बाकी पूरा शहर इस रचनात्मकता के नाम पर सिफर है। लेकिन यहां ऐसा होना तो दूर, शायद... सोचा भी नहीं जाता है। टॉयलेट बनाये तो जरूर है लेकिन वे सफेद हाथी है उनमें या तो पानी नही है और नाही मेन्टिनेंस है। शहर में केवल एक महावीर पार्क मुझे दिखा जहां कोई वाकिंग ट्रेक ओपन जिम या ओपन एक्सरसाइज मैटेरियल बिल्कुल नहीं है पुराने शहर में आपको ऐसा पार्क भी नजर नहीं आता है जो बताता है कि यह प्रोफेशनल एप्रोच की बेहद कमी है। सिर्फ नियमित कार्य करने के कारण नगर परिषद सवाई माधोपुर को दो से ज्यादा स्टार बिल्कुल भी नहीं दिये जा सकते है। और एक नागरिक होने के नाते खुद भी ऐसे लिखते हुए अच्छा महसूस नहीं करता हूं। लेकिन जो आंखों ने देखा वहीं बयां किया।
