After three storied view towers, and a good photo session from there one feels it is the end and there is nothing further. Initially, we found that further on our route there were no more cactus, succulents, or any ornamental plants, logically concluding that we had finished our tour of The Cactus garden. I did not find any proper entry gate as such. In fact, the butterfly garden and the cactus garden are contiguous. The butterfly garden starts where the cactus garden ends However, after walking along the path for another 100 yards or so we saw this metal red and white painted information board announcing “Butterfly Garden in 11 major Indian languages! We also start seeing butterflies, if we concentrate a bit!
It was only after going further that we came across a huge butterfly made of translucent plastic which also served as a gate for a butterfly garden.
I love to look at butterflies of various varieties. Butterflies with a single bright colour, butterflies with a combination of colours, and butterflies with literally hundreds of colour shades. It gives immense pleasure seeing them fluttering around and going from flower to flower feeding on the nectar and also carrying the most vital function of cross-pollination
We did not see as many butterflies as we were expecting to see. They were so swift and so few in number that it was hard to spot them and even harder to photograph. In most of the photos they are visible only at maximum zoom.
However, it was quite clear that during our visit butterflies were mainly seen around some specific plants or flowers. They were mainly black with white dots and streaks or yellow with different colour streaks.
Further on there was a closed greenhouse hoping to see plenty of butterflies enter the greenhouse sadly there were no butterflies there at all.
We felt a bit let down at not seeing many butterflies and to tell you frankly I am no expert on butterflies but maybe it was not the right season ☹
Despite the disappointment the verdant greenery, the calm and serene ambiance and beautiful surroundings more than made-up for the disappointment.
