Great place to relax and chill out. Sometimes there are music sessions held here. This place is also kept very clean by the municipality. Sometimes on the weekend food stalls are set up here and live music is played. If there aren't stalls set up, there are a lot of restaurants nearby so you can just grab a snack and enjoy.

The four Asiatic lions atop this pillar standing back to back mounted on a circular abacus with a frieze Carving sculptures of high relief of an elephant, a galloping horse, a bull and a lion separated by intervening Dharmachakra or Ashoka Chakra wheels over a bell shaped lotus is the emblem of India.

The column is in Tuscan style with a plain cylindrical cask and has a height of 12 meters and 76 inches, not counting the lions.

The four lions symbolizes Power, Courage, Pride and Confidence, It was adopted as the National Emblem of India

The lions replaced the bust of Vasco da Gama on this pillar in this garden "Garcia de Orta in the year 1968 after Goa was liberated from the Portuguese rule.

Nice place to sit here surrounded by green trees and amazing view of the garden. People come here all day specially in morning and evening for walking and maintain their fit and healthy life. In the center of the city and is very much preferred by people for a quick walk in the garden. People come here also to have a quality time with friends where they can chat and spend time surrounded by nature. A good place to have some relaxing time from the hectic day at work.

Has a good collection of shoes although I feel they need more variety. Price is reasonable. Can visit if interested in simple stuff.

Great open place to spend some quality time on , defenietly for someone looking for peace one can experience him/her self close to nature and vise versa

It is a nice quiet place in Panjim.. Very close to the popular locality of Fontainhas. There is a well known book store called Singhbal nearby which is worth a visit.. Good for a stroll or a chat with friends.. however there are many other better locations in Panjim where you can hang out.
