AITH was established by the government of Uttar Pradesh in 1997 for imparting technical education. The institute is financed by Uttar Pradesh Government.
The institute is fully residential.from 2000-2012 to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, currently Autonomous Institute and recognised by AICTE. Currently it is under Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Technical University.

Aith Kanpur, started in 1997, began with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. , it offered a B.Tech degree in four branches - Computer Science, electrical engineering, biotechnology and chemical engineering. Here more than 50% facilities are HBTU facilities. Here is wheelchair are available for handicapped students and hostal is in college campus. So it is the best college

The courses are affiliated to U.P. Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow, and are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.) New Delhi. Institute maintains well residential facility for staff and students (in hostel) with 24-hour power backup and Internet connectivity. Separate, on campus, hostels for boys and girls are provided. Admissions to degree programs are made through combined entrance examination- U.P. SEE- conducted by U.P.Technical University Lucknow, held every year. College faculty, culture, environment & extra-curricular activities provide necessary inputs & opportunities for all round development of students. The management and students council aim for promoting games, NSS camps, cultural & literary events and other activities for the students. The infrastructure of the institute is conductive not only in imparting quality academic training but also for industrial oriented program to develop students to work effectively in their areas at shop floor or in office as required.

It's ranked 4th in aktu govt. aided colleges. Faculties are very good. Attendance is liberal. you have to manage the syllabus by self study after first year.

Good college for engineering and diploma students. Library, Computer labs, and other labs are Well Structured. All Teachers are Good.

AITH kanpur is a engineering college specially for handicap students but normal students can also get admission in this college.
