Chotiwala Dhaba

We stopped here twice once on our way to Kaza and once on our way back. It is a hole in a mountain place. Don't expect anything fancy. We had Rajma Chawal and makki roti with saag. It came with a glass of stirred curd. Food was tasty and freshly prepared.

This place is next to a natural waterfall with a ramp and pipe for car wash. People who have been on this route will tell you how critical car wash is :)

There is also a shop next door which does full vaccum of the car for a nominal fee. It's a good place to stop for a break.

The owner Mr Negi makes sure you get satisfied by the delicious food to your heart. On my solo trip to Spiti I had lunch at his Chotiwala Dhaba both during uphill and downhill journey. I had makki ki roti and sarso ka saag once and second time daal, chawal, sabji, chapati thali. He will keep serving you with a smile till you have over eaten. Their tea is also excellent. The food was great, all dishes were mixed with original ghee. The Lassi was just amazingly refreshing after a tough climb on cycles from Rampur

Awesome food prepared by the ladies of the place and very sweet people to talk and spend time...I would suggest everyone to stop and grab a tasty local food...you will love it.

Amazing food, cooked with love topped with desi ghee & butter, makke ki roti witj saag, kadi, rajma, each dish outshines the other & not forget the lassi. YUM.
