Lansdowne Hall, on the Sagardighi West in the center of the town of Cooch Behar is an important landmark.. Erected in 1894 in commemoration of the visit of Lord Lansdowne, Viceroy and Governor General of India to Cooch Behar, Lansdowne hall played a crucial role in the local society for a pretty long time; it was a venue of countless important public meetings, while it was also used as a reading room for literate people of this area.

The Lansdowne Hall was constructed in 1892 in commemoration of the visit of Lord Lansdowne, The then Viceroy and The Governor General of India. Construction was completed in 1894 and was opened on February 2, 1895. It is a large two storied building built in classic Italian style having 79 feet high. The renovated hall is now used for the official conferences and public program.
