Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Kamrup (M)

CJM court along with the Lawyers Association Guwahati (LAG). The view of the river from the parking lot is very good. You have to find your own parking space because parking on-campus is for advocates and staff only.

Its a public place so its horrible in hygiene and otger factors. No proper sanitation. No drinking water facilities. Its extremely unhygienic place. Govt. Should plan and implement more sanitation facilities in govt areas such as these.

The Court of the District & Sessions Judge, Kamrup, was established in the year 1920. The territorial jurisdiction of the court was extended up to erstwhile Nagaon District in the East and Dhubri District in the West. Mr. A.Merror Esquire, ICS, was the first District & Sessions Judge, Assam valley. After independence, Mr. I.Rashul became the first District & Sessions Judge, Kamrup. Previously, the territorial jurisdiction of the District is extended over three sub-divisions namely Guwahati Sub-Division, Pragjyotishpur Sub-Division and Rangia Sub-Division.However, recently it is extended to only Kamrup Metro District. Altogether, the establishment of the District Judge & the Chief Judicial Magistrate comprise of 24 courts manned by Judicial Officers of various grades.

The other courts and offices present in the District & Sessions Judge Court Complex, Kamrup are:

1.Special Judge, Assam.

2.Court of Special Judge, Central Bureau of investigation (CBI), Guwahati.

3.Judge, Designated Court (Terrorist And Destructive Activities (TADA)), Assam.

4.Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA), Assam.

The other Court Complexes present in the Kamrup District are Family Court, Industrial Tribunal, Labour Court , Addl. CBI Court Complex, Special Railway Magistrate's Court and Motor Accidents Case (MAC) Tribunal.

Whenever you ask for the small helps the lawyers will ask you for the money too. Idk i think we should also pay fine challan to the government plus to the lawyers too. Great 👍

Popularly known as CJM Court. You get Stamp Paper, Notary Officer, too many Lawyers, Open Law Book Store, and Office of All Assam Lawyer Association along with Few Judges Courts. Client Lawyer meeting under big trees along the side of river Brahmaputra gives you some unique feeling. The ratio of male lawyer : female lawyer is more or less equal, this add some more uniqueness to this place. Besides this 2 mid size canteen and small eating shops are there.
