US Visa Biometrics Centre and passport collection

These are the most helpful people I have met. Yesterday I had an appointment, since I was traveling from Gujarat and because of the bad roads and the worsening traffic I got late. They do not allow coming in late but the staff were very understanding and decided to still help. This would have been a huge impact to me otherwise, as I would have to reschedule my interview and that would add another 2 months in already 4 years away from my husband. Huge thank you to the staff for being very empathetic.

Applied for C1/D visa . This is the place for biometrics means they will do a face and fingerprint scan after checking the appointment and 160 forms . No mobile phones or bags are allowed inside but in the 1 at floor there is a xerox shop which offers locker facilities at@ 500 ₹ . Try to get all the documents printed before reaching here because the same xerox shop will charge over 500/per copy !. Easy to reach place from Kurla station as rikshawala will charge 30 ₹per seat to Biometric centre and same for Us consulate. Don't get scammed by Autorickshaw wla as they will lure you for a locker . it is better to leave your belongings in a hotel or room or to take a relative to accompany you there . Only wallets are allowed inside.

Had visited for the Dropbox option. The security guards were managing and guiding us as to where to go and ensuring that everything was moving fast. The team which was accepting our forms were also extremely professional as well as courteous. Things went very smoothly.

Took around 20 mins for the biometric appointment. People are helpful. Visa appointment and passport collection centre.

Reach 10-15 minutes before your appointment time.
There is a private locker inside the building where you can keep your backpack or phone, on the same floor where VAC. They charge you Rs 500. Even for a phone, charges are the same for the locker services.
3-4 people can book a single locker as well, to split the charges.
Make sure that your DS 160 does not have any mistakes like DOB, VAC won't let you in to take biometrics unless the corrections are made. The same locker guy runs a cyber cafe as well, and for the correction they charge Rs 3000.

The process is smooth. It takes 10 minutes to get the biometrics done, if everything is alright with your documents.

Location is good, they have a lot of security staff members to guide people throughout the process of biometrics and Dropbox.... there is usually a wait, but the office staff is very friendly and cooperative... there is a bus stop at CA Institute, so public transport is not a problem and the frequency of buses is good... we can reach here from Bandra Station or Kurla Station by either an Auto or the BEST bus...

On 2nd Jan, 23 was my Biometric and it was very smooth. Everyone has to wait in the opposite of the road and before 30 minutes of the scheduled interview, they will announce to enter. After entering it takes maximum 10 minutes for the Biometric and Photo. Its best not to bring any bag as its expensive to store the item. Also avoid wearing smart watches as they won't allow.

Overall the experience was good.

It is better to come an hour before your appointment time as they might let you in early if they are free. They make you line up outside and check your passport, DS form and appointment confirmation letter before letting you in. They guide you into the building. If you bring your phones, you have to leave them in lockers on the first floor. Follow each check-point and finally they take your photo and scan your fingerprints. After they stamp your form you're free to leave. Very quick, organized and efficient process. They even had Christmas decorations up in December 🎄🎁
