The college is started its journey in the year 1988 and at present college is imparting education and knowledge to the students of Bachelor degree Arts,science and commerce with Hons courses ,all courses are affiliated to the Vidyasagar University, also the college is accredited by NAAC.

Subarnarekha Mahavidyalaya, also known as Gopiballavpur College, is an undergraduate, coeducational college situated in Gopiballavpur, Jhargram district, West Bengal. It was established in 1988. The college is under Vidyasagar University.

In Jhargram district this is one of the best college, the location is also good the college is on main road which connect Odisha, education is good nearby market is gopiballabhpur
