Dewan VS Group of Institutes was established in the year 1996. The foundation stone of the institution was laid by Late Sri Vidya Sagar Dewan, the leading industrialist and educationist with a vision to emphasize adherence to excellence, ethics and values in the field of education, along with his wife Mrs. Mamta Dewan, a staunch socialist and philanthropist.

Under the inspiration of renowned connoisseur and patrons, beneath the umbrella of Dewan Daulat Ram Education Foundation, there was initiated a school in year 1992, which later spurt into a group of schools and professional education institutions – Dewan Institute of Management Studies, Dewan VS Institute of Engineering & Technology, Dewan VS Institute of Management, Dewan VS Institute of Hotel Management, Dewan VS Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Dewan Law College, Dewan College of Education, which are currently offering the following courses – B.Tech (Computer Sciences & Engineering, IT, Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering), Management (MBA, PGDM, BBA), Computer Applications (MCA, BCA), Hotel Management (BHMCT, DHMCT), LAW (BALLB, LLB), Education (B.Ed).
