This is one of the important colleges in the state catering to the needs of poor students in government sector.It was established in 1969 with the introduction of 10+2+3 system in Andhra Pradesh.In the year 2012 it has been renamed as Komati Reddy Prateek Memorial Government Junior College.Every year toppers of the college in all subjects are given gold medals/cash awards by the old students of 1959 12th class batch.
