India's only college having its own Animation production & Game production studio. Students get an opportunity to learn ,& earn.Excellent faculty with so many years of industry experience help students to gain in-depth knowledge & mastery our their skills. College is run by a Trust & is affiliated to MP Govt. University. Outstanding placements. Majority of the students get placed with very high packages in MNC's.No doubt a great design college. Almost 100% students get paid summer internships. It helps a lot in deep learning & in final placements.
I had recently visited the college, around a few days ago, (21st March 2022)
And not gonna lie, I was highly disappointed about the college.
1. The college is somewhere within a village area, outskirts of Main Indore
2. It was really hard to find the transportation from college
3. Hostel is 7–8 kms away from the college
The Architecture is questionable. There is an under construction area, that didn’t seemed to be further built as I saw no workers around.
Classrooms had no proper doors, and to make it worse, no proper blackboards or smart boards to teach on, they had just hung a cheap portable white board sheet.
The only lab that looked proper was the lightbox room, but yet again, The method of lightbox is long gone from todays world, I mean its a good thing to know how animation took place, but that's how you’re gonna start in here. Also they didn't care what students did in labs, they were playing Valorant and CS:GO.
Only the exterior looked good, other than that, the interior looked like a Hotel turned into a College.
Other labs had no systems equipped, where as all other design colleges have their own System labs, like even the Basic schools have computer labs.
Whenever one thinks of learning animation or anything design related, it is obvious that the college would have some sort of system students work on, some have MAC labs while others have High end PC builds, or at least a build that can support the given software.
It’s better we not talk about the canteen area, railway stations have better sitting than that.
The only place in the whole college that felt properly built was the cabin of the manager who sits there to collect money, like that's the best room in the entire college.
I’m somebody who has graduated from Kendriya Vidyalaya, but it kinda feels weird to say, our store rooms were better than the classrooms in here, when you are paying 1.5L, Nothing really felt as worth for paying that much.
The yearly fee in KV is 10–15k for 12th grade.
Also they say ACAD is a govt. Institution, but so is KV.
And not to forget, they said they had shift the location of the college from another building. Honestly this is the first time I've heard that a college changed their location from one place to another.
Now coming to the staff and communication.
During my interview I was asked questions that were centered to one part of everything, My point of opinions were called “wrong” when I had spent almost 4 years doing my research on my field.
Then again, the one who took my interview made a really big picture about the college, also mentioned there are students from Abroad, and trust me, nobody in the college even seemed to be out of Indore in there.
Ghibli studios are one of the best known studios of anime that's true, but when it came to other animators or studios such as Misashi Kishimoto, Eiichiro Oda, Toei Animation, studio Ufotable, MAPPA
None of them were mentioned, and not taken in account, where as MAPPA is leading the tracks here.
And the staff was pretty much speed running the college tour and didn’t really explain much other than “every workpiece u see here is made by students”
So the college tour wasn’t a proper tour.
And when it comes to replying mails, they never reply mails, they hardly even reply WhatsApp messages.
They will just rush u to pay the fees, but later on they do not bother properly about you. I had a medical case and had asked them to consider my problem and do something, but till date I have received no reply to it, even after I called and reminded Mr. Nishant that I have dropped the mail.
This college is all just talks, Unless you are looking to get a degree done for the sake of name and have nothing to do further, you can consider choosing this place, as it is cheaper than other places, yes.
But if you are really wanting to have a future and a career in Design, I suggest you to invest a little more and get into the well known places, such as NID, MIT and such, also Pearl Academy is also a nice place to get your UG, PG done.
