Nalbari College

Nalbari College is one of the premier colleges of Assam. Established way back in pre-independent era (in 4th July, 1945), this college has taken a pioneering role in shaping and promoting higher education in the entire lower Brahmaputra valley. In the beginning, the college was affiliated to the Calcutta University, but in 1948, when Gauhati University was established, it came under the academic jurisdiction of the latter. The college received the UGC recognition under Section 2(f) in 1962. Beginning with a modest number of only 28 students, today it has a sizable strength of about 4420 students (including Higher Secondary programme). Spreading over 16 acres of land, the college has a built up area of approximately 8 acres

Perhaps the best college in Nalbari district. Most of the faculties are good, they know their work. The required marks to get into some subjects are fairly high.

Good place. Calm, noiseless atmosphere like city- like area. 'Good morning' traffic, especially for two, three, four wheelers. For ideal cheap journey to the college for long-distant students, there runs local trains. Helpful for study for students.
Inside the college, a huge place for parking for the lecturers' or other appointees', students' bicycles, bikes, cars.
In the college, Arts and Science streams exist.

Besides, for irregular students , it is a study centre of Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University and Guwahati University( IDOL). It draws flexible and timeless education to those students or others like business persons, job( government or private) persons, carpenters, masons, drivers etc. who want/ need education (secondary/ graduate/ post-graduate) with their works running simultaneously. Interested candidates can walk with these facilities and acquire a pricey boast/ proud of being a graduate or post-graduate.
As a government institution, it is your happy right to study here in return of a very low cost.
