From my experience as a first time visitor here I would like to mention this area is pretty quiet peaceful one and a nice atmosphere full of greenery and it should be like this for every soul to rest in peace. But one negative point I would like to add it shouldn't be like this the authority should not allow some boys to play football inside. I noticed today some boys playing futball beside the crematorium where there is a Small field. Other than this anyone can come and Bury dead body inside the premises according to the rules and regulations including the timings here. And they maintain every record of the buried dead body here.

It's a very important & gorgeous with peaceful place in Kolkata near Bhobanipur area. Established on 1907 at British period.This cemetery is made up of huge areas.

Well maintained Christian burial ground with graves from a 100 or more years ago. Burials still take place here. It is a religious and historical site.

A very calm and serene place. Anyone can visit this place and pray for their departed relatives. You will feel at peace. Also a great place for bird watching.

If you go visiting the Bhowanipore cemetery, be careful of where you tread. You could easily be stepping on a gravestone that's 150 years old. This civil cemetery has been in use since 1864, many of the earlier burials of service personnel and their dependants being made from the nearby garrison at Fort William, from which the cemetery initially took its name. It is one of the heritage and historical site of Kolkata.
