Good place to visit in South. Guest house rents are reasonable and first come first serve. Autos available round the clock (bit expensive though) which makes mobility from one place to other is easy.

One of the best place In south India to visit, I don't belive in God still am visit this place for peace. Very good ambience please try to come alone then you can really see everything over there. From my experience I got some positive Vibes here, so I visit everymonth once time permit and it's near to me so easy for visit.

Due to some restrictions the visitors cannot spend time sitting inside the church. This is a good place where everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime 😇

Visiting this church from my birth year, always with you my mother!! The management must educate their staffs to behave gently to pilgrims, and must destruct the illegal construction nearby the church. Unfortunately Friday, Saturday and Sunday in August month of 2021 public are not allowed inside the church.

Ｖｅｌａｎｋａｎｎｉ is one of the heritage city located in the Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. Roman Catholic Latin Rite shrines called the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health is the main visitors spot in the city. The church was built in 16th century in Gothic styles. August and September months are the peak time to visit the church. Around 3 millions of pilgrims and travellers visits during these annual festival months. Velankanni is well connected by road and rail transports. The church itself provides accomodation facilities at cheaper rates. The place will be moderately crowded all over the years. The climate will be hot and humid. The beaches are safe and okay to take a leisure bath. Be cautious since the sea is unpredictable. The waves are vigorous when we visited. The sad fact is, In 2004 tsunami hits the shores of Velankanni so badly since it's lies on the coast of Bay of Bengal. About 600 pilgrims died. Rescue teams extricated more than 400 bodies from the sand and rocks in the vicinity and large number of unidentified bodies were buried in mass graves.

2. Providing Room facilities for the visitor for money ( 1Night - Rs 500).
3. Having government Bus facilities near church.
4. Too many shops near church and you will able to purchase different items.
5. Behind church there was a beach so finish the mass and visit the that beach.

Peacefull place to pray ample of space for visitors maintained very neatly. Felt very blessed here. When you come here try to spend atleast two days cause there are so many things to do there so plan accordingly. Overall very nice place. The inner peace you get while praying here is amazing. Will visit here soon. There are so many hotels available here so staying here is a no brainer. Just FYI Ola /Uber doesn't work here so come by a private car or any othe mode of transportation would be fine.
