Jesuits found this Church and now in the responsibility of the Diocese of Tiruchirappalli. A very historical church where St. Beschi and St. John De Britto had visited for their spiritual retreat.
*Periyanayagi Matha* is the Goddess of the church (Our Lady was named by St. Beschi). This church has its own unique car (தேர்) structure which resembles the classic model of Tamilnadu.
Very traditional structure makes the devotees to get admired.
I strongly recommend all to make a visit atleast once in life.
Buses are available from Tiruchirappalli Central Bus Station. (18km from Trichy)
