Looks like Reviews are fake. Not at all recommended. Driver was lazy and and didn't turn AC on. But we were charged for AC. STAY AWAY!!!!

I'm into medical profession, i had to travel to Salem for work, i had booked taxi from Selvi car rentals for 3 days and paid advance. But due to unforeseen reasons i had to cancel my booking, Mr prakash was kind enough in refunding the advance paid by me, which was surprising, because these days we don't get to see someone so genuine. We had a very bad experience with this Travels. Booked a tempo traveller a month ago for safe travels to visit temples in Kumbakonam/Chidambaram on Dec 25th. They charged a higher rate of rs. 22/km comparing to other travels but no daily rental fee. We agreed to it only because their reviews looked good and paid rs. 3000 in advance and gave another rs. 5000 for Diesel when the trip started. We had asked the driver to come at 6 am in the morning but he convinced us starting at 7 am is good enough to reach the temple on time. We were disappointed at the 14 seater tempo traveller that didn't look as good as what they have posted in their website. By the time we loaded the luggages it was 7:30 am already. It got us worried to see how the driver was driving so fast. Within an hour of driving he stopped the vehicle on the road, because the big suitcase he has kept on the top of the vehicle has flown away and fell on the road due to the speed. It was very upsetting how he tied it poorly to the vehicle to secure it. The suitcase got damaged, luckily we didn't atleast lose it. We visited the Chidambaram temple at noon, had lunch and was driving to visit Kumbakonam temples now. About 80-90 kms away from Chidambaram temple, we were driving on NH 36 near Sethiyathoppu. The NH was closed on one side, so all the vehicles are going in both directions using the same side. He was driving the tempo in full speed and tried to overtake the vehicle in the front by passing it in the left lane. There was a bus coming in the opposite direction in full speed and not slowing down either. Our driver realized it is not possible to overtake the vehicle and pressed the brake hard at the last minute to avoid the collision with the vehicle in the front. The other vehicle also stopped at a distance realizing it. But to our bad luck, a government bus following us lost it's control and hit us in the back. The impact of collision caused injuries to the passengers such as swollen feet for three and my son got hurt in the forehead. Luckily, nothing severe. Vehicle got damaged in the back, police had to pull open the doors with the help of a truck to get our luggages. The policemen let us leave after their formal inquiries and arranged for an alternative vehicle to reach to the nearest town where we had booked for hotel stay. Obviously, we paid 4 times more for the new rental which belonged to the Sub Inspector. We continued with our travel plan with a different car rental from there after taking the injured passengers to the doctor nearby for consultation and first aid.
Worst experience with the travel agency.
The owner did not even answer Whatsapp messages after the accident happened to make any necessary arrangements for us, though he checked it. He left us stranded in the road.
Came to know later, the vehicle is not owned by Selvi travels but belong to their partner. Don't know about the legal arrangements between them but the owner of the tempo seems like a genuine guy and truly shaken by the accident. He responded to calls and mentioned he refunded the entire money to Selvi travels owner which he took for this trip. But Selvi travels did not refund us in full, charged us for the kms run even though they didn't spend any money for it.
On top of it, not willing to pay any compensation for the injuries caused to the passengers and damages caused to the luggages including a broken laptop. Owner disconnected my call when I asked him for the details of insurance claims. We will be looking at other possibilities to get our money back, beware of fraudulent business practices and know your rights before booking such irresponsible travels.
