This is nice place, I think places like should not be open to tourists. We need to preserve these places otherwise it will be extinct one day. When we went there, there were very less flowers and all were yellow, there was nothing special.

Been there in first weekend of oct 22.Its been dream come true to visit this place which is world heritage site now. As gate 3 was not having sufficient flowering, we went to gate 4 and walked about a 2-3 km enroute lot of variety of flowers mesmerized us. and at the end reached kumudini lake...what a sight to watch , photograph and spend time.Lake was full of small white kumudini flowers and water was crystal clear. what a platue of flowers and very scenic. Later visited kas lake down below..nice sight was full of water and mesmerizing hill views.ust visit during sept/ oct ..check about the flowering prior to planning trip..other sights nearby are sajjangad- Ramdas swami samadhi and nice view point fyom top, thoseghar waterfall , wind mill farms white going to thoseghar.All are very near to satara.

We visited in morning around 8.00am, very scenic. White lotus what localities told call were very pleasant to look at, can see hundreds off honey bees bussing around flowers.

Best place to visit near Satara in Maharashtra. Best season to visit in Oct to November. Entire plateau u can see covered in red, yellow, blue colour…

Kumudini talaav or lake is a small lake inside Kaas flower plateau. Name of lake is due to the type of lotus which is grow is call kumudini lotus so it name as Kumudini talaav or lake. Source of water of kumudini talav or lake is only monsoon rain. Due to the full of Kumudini lotus It’s gives a so beautiful scenic view. Due to this lake is inside the protected area you need to have ticket to entry inside.

Kaal lake or kumudini talaav, is a small lake inside Kaas flower plateau. Kaas is about 20 kms from Satara.
The lake is full of kumudini flowers. Nature lovers would enjoy the beauty. A must must place to visit now. I visited on 29th of September.
Try completing visiting before 2 pm. Many flowers bloom in the morning and by afternoon they start closing.
Due to this lake is inside the protected area you need to have ticket to entry inside.
