It’s the longest tunnel above 10k feet in the world . It reduces the road distance by 46 Kms between Manali and Leh . The tunnel provides round the year connectivity from Manali to lahul spiti region on the Manali Leh highway. After this tunnel came into existence the life of peoples in lahoul has became a little manageable and convenient.the beauty on the both side of the tunnel makes it’s beauty called heaven.October was the month I have visited which was the beginning of snow season at sissu. This tunnel saves lots of time and lessen the risk of crossing dangerous roads of Rohtangpass.it’s also know as Rohtang tunnel and the work is done by Border Road Organisation (BRO) engineering marvel with it being a gateway to another world.. On the way the Atal you’ll be many site seeing options such Solang valley and many other villages .

It is a unique experience travelling through 9 km long Tunnel. I am proud of my country and engineers for building such mammoth Tunnel. The scene is different on either side of the tunnel. Good time is just after winter when road opens.

Nice place situated in HP one of the longest tunnel Takes approx 15 minutes to cover Basically its a way for the ladakh you should visit once. There you will find many other things to explore. Temperature is cool and try to be slow over there as roads were usually covered with snows. Have a safe journey
