I went to Jaya Multiplex, Laketown this evening (around 7-10 pm) to book two Dress Circle Tickets for BHARAT movie show at 7-30 pm on 12-06-2019 (Wednesday). The booking clerk in the middle counter asked me whether it was Wednesday. I agreed to it. He then issued two tickets for 7-30 pm show on payment of Rs.130/- for each ticket. On my return home around 8 pm, I was surprised to see that two tickets were issued to me for today's show at 7-30 pm . It was a bolt from the blue for me. While leaving the counter, I should have verified the tickets which I didn't. It was due to good faith and my eye problems to read any printed material during evening hours. I found the multiplex's phone number on the back of the ticket and called around 8-10 pm this evening. After stating the incident, I got some harsh words from the person on the other side of the phone. Not only had he misbehaved with me, he even told me that I was telling a lie. Then, I told him to register a complaint against him in writing. After this, he disconnected the line. I feel duped ! I want a refund of Rs.260 immediately.

Jaya Multiplex is the only multiplex whose structure or physical appearance is like the old mansions alike the other theatres used to be few decades back, I have ever seen, I may be wrong.

Dilapidated, doomed atmosphere etc are the major problems but keeping aside those problems, the screen, seats, audio system, food availability is great. Ticket prices are little bit higher than the other theatres because there are no other substitute facilities available in that particular area.

Outside the theatre, ample amount of snacks stores, tea and coffee shops, restaurants, dhabas, adda zones, (selfie spots too😂) are available.

Situated at the middle of VIP Road and Jessore Road Connector via Bangur Avenue, it has a good public transport connection to Shyambazar, Belgachhia, Dum Dum, North Calcutta, South Calcutta, E.M. Bypass, Nagerbazar, Keshtopur, Baguiati and Airport as well.

Seems it's permanently closed after the fire 🔥 event as already it's closed since long time for covid. 😔 Lots of sweet memories are attached with this place. Countless times visited here in my School and College days. Very touched and sad to see it's getting close. Requesting authorities to keep this place alive.

It has been shut down due to fire incident a coule of months back. it was a cheap option to watch movies . But alas now with the COVID and the fire the business took nose dive. Only option for residents of bangur, laketown, kalinidi etc is PVR DIAMOND PLAZA WITH THEIR HIGH PRICES
