Extremely useful structure built by TMC, as I remember 15 yrs back, outside Thane station was like a battle ground between bus & rickshaw stand together. It was a complete chaos for pedestrians. With this bridge the buses go from the bridge and autorickshaw stand is under the bridge.

Good place you can take train from here towards Pune and Panvel goa madgaon. Station surrounded are not clean. Same like station surrounded area was too much crowded in normal day in mid night not much more crowded. Also your available food at station but its Higenic. Wadapav is special and so much popular dish out of thane station also one more momos shops also available our of 1 gate platform which superb and amazing. Experience was good 🙂🙂 aalos like one thing which slider and wheels chair accessible so many entrance available to move one platform to another platform.

The station which have option of local trains e.g. Centeral line, Trans Harbour line. In thane all local fast trains and most of outstation going/incoming Trains stops. It's very convenient to passenger to get down and catch the trains. Thane is surrounded with market , offices. so Thane Station is most busiest railway station on Central line. The station will found crowded from early morning to late night. Their are many exists . The local TMT buses , rickshaws, Taxis are available on walkable distance

A major transport hub for local as well as outstation passengers. Usually crowded and always busy. There are 10 platforms here including the one which concluded the historic first ever railway journey of India. Passengers alight here for connecting buses and other public transport. The station has East and West sides and trains run north south like most of Mumbai region.

Thane Railway is a big station. It has 10 platforms. All long route trains stop at Thane station. It is very busy station 24 × 7. There are many food joints to eat outside Thane station. Famous is Kunj Vihar, Yewele Tea, Jumbo King etc

You will get buses outside the station to go to various places in Mumbai and Maharashtra. There is an ST stand, TMT, NMMT and BEST go from here.

Overall it has very good connectivity, however, the station area and place is a little old. It needs redevelopment to look like a big station.

Thane railway station is Historic place as very first passanger railway service stated here in British Raj. Now Thane is a metro city so station is enlarged & developed. Thane station is an important station on Central Rail line. Plus it is starting point of trans harbour railway line. Trains travelling on Konkan Rail route run through Thane station. Now Thane railway station is going through makeover.
