This stupa pagoda is located just behind the Mahaparinirvana Temple (east of the Mahaparinirvana Temple) on the same platform. The stupa with its cylindrical base and dome is 15.81mts. high from the ground level. A copper plate with text of Nidan Sukta inscribed on it was found during excavations possibly deposited by Haribala in Nirvana Chaitya. Massive statue of Buddha in the front portion of the temple had also been installed by Haribala. Some silver coins in the copper vessels were also excavated. These coins apparently belong to Kumar Gupta (Emperor of Gupta Dynasty) in 8th century AD.

This pilgrim rest is very good for budget accommodation seekers. Clean rooms. But have to get food by out side. Separate kitchen is here. Your pilgrim group can cook here by reserving the kitchen earlier. Located next to the Maha Parinibbana Stupa archeological site. Walking distance to the gate. Manger Tenzin is very helpful. This place is run by the Tibetan Buddhists.

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world "lord Budha "

The Buddhist temple of Kushinagar was offered to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the year 1967.

Kushinagar is the Parinirvana place of the Buddha. Consequently, many Buddhist devotees go there on pilgrimages. To provide help with housing and other necessities, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has given responsibility to Namgyal Monastery to improve the temple at Kushinagar.
