Whenever, I ,visit the place I find an oddity. All the counter clerks of the India Post Payments Bank are working sincerely without any interruption. But the waiting customers are not being attended to. It will take a long time for the customers to finish the purpose of their visit. A big WHY when bank staff are working sincerely?

I tried to figure it out. Then finally I found out the answer. You will be curious to know, isn't you? Every time I, visit I find invariably a same set of people visiting the bank . If you observe you can also see it for yourself. A same set of people visiting the bank daily ! What for? They time and again go over to the counters and handover some bunch of pass books and papers to the counter clerks. It is those pass books and bunch of papers the staff of the bank are working on continuously . I came to know that they are outside agents employed by the bank to promote small savings among the public . FANTASTIC IDEA. But due to the wrong attitude of the staff it is being spoiled.

The staff ignoring the visiting customers, attend only to the needs of the agents. That is the reason of delay. THE STAFF OF THE BANK AND THE AGENTS COLLABORATE AND THEIR COLLABORATION HAD GONE WITHOUT ANY DUE CHECK.

For example you have to wait atleast one and half hours to complete your purpose of visit, if it is withdrawal or deposit. If it is closure of any accounts then you are doomed. It will take more than one or two hours.
You will get irritated. For example yesterday I went to withdraw cash. I went there at 0954 and I was allowed into the bank around 1030 hrs. My token number was 6, but more than 12 persons were there when I entered. Out of the 12 only 6 were customers and the rest were agents. I completed withdrawing cash at 1130 hrs. Is it normal ? Apart from that ,the way the bank staff react with you matters more than anything else. They will humiliate you,insult you irrespective of your age and gender . You must keep quiet. Otherwise you will be taken to task.

During this pandemic period it is getting worsening day by day. You will be issued with a token and you will not be allowed inside until the gentleman manning the entrance allows you. But for agents there are no rules. They can enter anytime as they wish.

ANOTHER ODDITY -THE TOKEN SYSTEM IS ONLY FOR INDIA POST PAYMENTS BANK AND NOT FOR ERODE HEAD POST OFFICE ,ALTHOUGH BOTH ARE FUNCTIONING SIDE BY SIDE WITHIN THE SAME PREMISES. WHY AND FOR WHAT REASON? IT DEFIES ANY LOGIC. IF TOKEN SYSTEM HAD BEEN ENFORCED IN VIEW OF COVID 19 PANDEMIC, ISN'T IT APPLICABLE FOR ERODE HPO .

To remedy the situation the token system should be given a go-bye and if not so it should also cover the agents and they should be advised to tender only one case for a token. They should be treated on par with the regular customers. They should not be given any preferential treatment. Or a separate day, or a separate counter should be earmarked for attending to their cases. They should not be allowed to get mingled with other customers. And the over enthusiastic collaboration between the bank staffers and the agents should certainly be looked into. BUT THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION IS - WHO WILL DO IT? AND ANOTHER MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION IS - WHY SHOULD THEY?
