The Bolangir District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., Bolangir came in to being on the 4th day of July 1956 vide registration No.1/B 1956 after amalgamation of the two ex-state Central Coop. Bank i.e. Bolangir Central Cooperative Bank Ltd., which was established in 1934 & Sonepur Central Cooperative Union ltd., established in 1949. The area of operation of the bank extends to the whole of the revenue district of Bolangir & Subarnapur. It is functioning through a network of twenty-one branches including two Mahila Branches, one at Bolangir and another at Sonepur covering 20 blocks.

The day to day administration of the bank is vested with the Secretary who is assisted by Manager Establishment and Administration, Manager Loans & Supervision, Manager Accounts and operation and Manager Planning and Development for smooth function of the bank. There are 20 Administrative Inspector and Supervisors entrusted with supervision of 222 PACS and each Inspector or Supervisor is in-charge of one block only.

Accordingly the day to day administration of the Sonepur branch is vested with the Branch Manager who is assisted by Supervisor, Accountant, Cashier and Peon for smooth function of the branch. There are 10 PACS under Sonepur Branch
