Opened in an army camp area for armies, it also caters to local civilians. Armies are given preference in all services. Due to lack of banking facilities, the local civilians depend on this branch a lot despite the inconvenience of its location (Somsai) and priority to armies.

The worst bank in ukhrul district.

Hello everyone, I would like to express my experience with one of the staff of SBI bank ukhrul. My uncle came from village to ukhrul for withdrawing cash from his sbi account for his son as he was travelling for further studies. My uncle didn't have a cheque book nor an atm card so, we decided to withdraw with the withdrawal form. Unfortunately, the staff at the counter number one denied saying withdrawal below 40,000 is not allowed, despite telling that we don't have an atm and cheque book.
Since, the staff denied we went to the cash officer and explained the situation and requested for approval. The kind officer agreed and told us to check at counter number one for the cash so, we went back to counter number one again, however the staff denied saying the account was inoperative and we need to put in KYC form for re-activating the account again, after saying that the staff tore the withdrawal form into two. I knew he was lying that the account was in-operative cause just the day before, my uncle's son updated the passbook which wouldn't have allowed if the account was in-operative.
The staff who sits at counter number one was very stubborn, moreover he was responding back very rudely.

I would like to say to him that he is working in the bank to give good service and help the customer. He should have actually try to find ways to help the customer and not simply deny. These was not the first bad experience I had with this staff. He was very rude with me at other times too wherein I remain quite thinking he must have had a bad day.

At a good place

Best among other bank in terms of infrastructure wise. though it is only just a humble office this is all what we can avail in ukhrul town. I took this picture while waiting in a queue, phewww.... one has to pass through a long queue to get service done. and fyi this bank has shifted to Mini secretariat Hundung. ukhrul.
