Used their services for routine car servicing through GoMechanic. They had shared images of everything but wheel balancing and alignment. When I contacted GoMechanic the GoMechanic guys initially told that wheel alignment and balancing was done manually and images will be provided. When GoMechanic failed to provide images and I escalated again, I was given a report that had a time stamp of 10 minutes after the vehicle was diagnosed. As such I doubted the report to be fake.
On escalating again GoMechanic advised to visit the workshop in person and get it done in person. That’s where the nightmare started.
The workshop guys were extremely rude and aggressive. They told to prove wheel balancing was not done. When I asked them the process they follow, they confirmed that they do regular service and then send the car to another workshop for wheel balancing. They also confirmed that service takes between 2 to 3 hours. Now when I pointed out that as per report wheel balancing was done 10 minutes post diagnosis and within 1 hour of car reaching their garage they turned aggressive. They asked to point out which wheel is not balanced and said we will balance it right now - the owner joined in too now and asked a worker to bring a spanner and told to balance the wheels. Was surprised to see this attitude of owner but that kind of explained from where the workshop guys inherited their attitude. They were extremely aggressive and rude and shouting at the same time with a spanner in one hand and asking me to point out the wheel that had issue.
I told them if It could be done manually using a spanner I would have done it rather than bringing the car all the way to them and I started recording their aggression on video. Post that they relented and took the car to the wheel balancing place. The report I got this time was completely different from the one shared earlier - car ran less than 100 km between two reports. Of the 4 elements that needed balancing/alignment only toe was balanced. They informed other items like camber, set back and SAI are not relevant to this car. Decided not to pursue further.
Had recorded on video when the workshop guys were getting aggressive but not posting it here as it can impact them personally. The owner also mentioned they have their issues with GoMechanic. May be that explains a part of their attitude. Hopefully they will solve their issues and train their staff on customer handling.
Overall experience -
1. GoMechanic escalation team - handling was good and prompt. Better then expectation.
2. GoMechanic service buddy - was lacking on multiple fronts - insisting to drive down rather than providing pickup and drop which was included in my package - not sharing complete and correct info - initially told manual balancing done and will share images - then sharing a system report saying no images and it was not manual etc.
3. Garage team - experience could have been different if they would have just listened rather than insisting on proof that wheel balancing was not done and on proving proof forcing the customer to point out which wheel is not balanced.
4. Garage owner - should have tried to placate things and understand what’s happening rather than joining and adding to chaos by backing the workshop guys in insisting on pointing out which wheel is not balanced.
May use GoMechanic again but not this workshop for sure.
In general overall workshop did a very good job.
My review is for "GoMechanic" not for the workshop.
Good:
1. Experience of booking service via mobile application
Bad:
1. Bad experience starts with so called 'Service buddy' who is supposed to take responsibility. Unfortunately they don't respond.
2. No updates related to car service and delivery time
3. I need to get the escalation ticket created to find out time of car delivery
4. I noticed noise in AC fan after the service. Again service buddy did not respond, so had to chat with customer support to create escalation ticket
5. I had to follow-up with chat support for the whole day but no luck. Escalation team also didn't respond.
6. After one whole day, one of the escalation team member called me but he had no patience and had never seen the reported issue and again he was of no help in resolving the issue
When I contacted workshop directly they suggested to bring the car. They resolved the issue in 10min after reaching workshop. Workshop mechanics are very friendly and really listens and resolves the issue.
GoMechanic team is totally unprofessional. It is not worth to book service via them rather I would suggest to book the service directly with workshop.
I hope GoMechanic takes the feedback seriously before its too late....
