What's good

Almost 2200 years to inception, the pillar gets another star for its closeness to Udaigiri Caves. Ancient and mysterious, the pillar does offer an experience.

What's not good

Nothing else around.

What to do

Club the visit with Udaigiri Caves and read about it before you go. You will appreciate it more.

Heliodorus pillar popularly known as Kham baba is situated on the outskirts of Vidisha. It is a pillar of historical significance which also serves as a symbol of Indo-Greek relations. The pillar is worshipped by local fishermen community. Berry and tamarind trees have also been planted here.

Very ancient old site belongs to 150 years BCE. This pillar is very unique and made by Greek ambassador heliodorus during the reign of shung dynasty of king bhahbhadra. Approach road is very good and near to vidisha city. Well maintained by ASI. Overall great place from point of history.

Nice little place. Historically very old. It's so old that locals have started worshipping as deity "Kambaba". Very few people are aware of it's original name

A historical monument popularly known as Khamb baba. One of the very few monuments depicting Greek presence in India. The main structure is in a ruinous condition and only a Standing Pillar remains.
