It was one of the primary airports in India and in the year 1954, was the last destination of Air India's first flight which flew to Madras (Chennai) from Bombay (Mumbai) via Belgaum. The first operational passenger terminal was constructed at the northeast side of the airport and it was known as Meenambakkam Airport.

Airport located at Chennai. It is managed by Airports Authority of India. Infamous for no of ceiling falling down incidents. Domestic flights are available at Terminal T1. Well connected with Chennai Metro, MTC Buses and Local trains. You can get prepaid taxies costlier than Airfares.
