It’s far better than what i used to remember. There are very less animals there. But it has good shade where we can walk the entire the park without dragging ourselves in sun. Kids would like playing in the swings, slides and seesaws there. It’s like a good picnic place. It’s clean, neat and well maintained. They should bring in more animals and birds which would attract more crowd. I reduced one star for less animals and the pelican cage water was smelly. But it has developed so much that we have to appreciate the government and staff over there.

A nice place for the weekend.

This is a nice place to spend a weekend with the kids. It's a small one with very common animals, but your kids will surely enjoy it. The park associated with the zoo provides some recreational activities for kids. Though traveling via Bagayam can save you a lot of kilometers. The road is ok; but with a few rough patches in between

Good location who wants to enjoy forest condition. But don't expect much inside the park and the forest authorities keep 70% inside the park unused. Also no permission to enjoy the waterfall due to XYZ reason. But I suggest public to go and enjoy the forest condition at least one time

Good to pass some time with family. Narrow and bad roads to reach this mini zoo from city. Only cash option is available for buying ticket. Better keep your changes ready. No digital payment accepted. Very few animals were there. Not worth if you are expecting full fledged wild encounters. You will find some enclosures empty. Eco-shop is available to buy organic honey and other local produces like millets. Clean and tidy place. Big open parking space with lot of monkeys.

Well maintained, clean and enjoyable. Small zoo, but we can enjoy the nature. It has park for children's to play. When I visited amirthi river flow is good and enjoyed it too. Don't keep food items in bags or openly because of monkeys which are open everywhere. Staffs are very polite and friendly.

Situated around 25 Kms south of Vellore , enroute to Golden temple . The Amirthi Zoological Park has been operational since 1967 and had gone through a facelift in 2016 - 2017 . Can be reached by Bus/Car or Bike (No restrictions) . The Zoo has very limited animals and it is considered as small Zoo. Can be avoided if you are a animal lover and stick to Vandalur Zoo. But overall the location is good and can be considered as a one day trip if you stay around Chennai/Vellore surroundings. The Falls is currently closed for time being due to Covid pandemic / Quick sand around the area.

The Zoo has limited animals (Spotted Deer, Snakes, Parrots, Eagles, Porcupine, Crocodile, Tortoise, Love Birds, peacock, etc.,)..it also has a children play area.. there's also a water flowing in the adjacent area outside the Zoo, where you can get into it and spend some time inside water.. that's it.. not a well maintained zoo.. . the washrooms were clean & newly built.
No shops inside & eatables are not allowed.. even the use & throw water bottles not allowed.. water can be carried if the water bottles are of reusable type..outside the Zoo there is one small hotel & a snack shop..
People bring packed food to eat as lunch & it's a tough time having lunch near the zoo..just outside the Zoo, there's a place dedicated to have lunch but not clean, flooring is not proper and muddy..not cleaned & properly maintained.. and outside the Zoo there is ample space cleanly maintained, where you can sit & have lunch, but lots and lots of monkeys....very aggresive monkeys..they come snatch your food plates.. we had to make our family members eat first and keep guard from monkeys by holding long sticks...it was really a tough time with monkeys..
Definitely a one time visit place it is for kids & family outing... not much for youngsters or adults.
