One of the ancient temple in holy place of Uttarkashi, another name of this city called in hindu scriptures is Saumya-kashi. This city is known as 'city of temples'. It is believed that mother nature took the responsibility to feed all mankind and started taking care of whole civilization, so this form of mother nature is called MATA ANAPOORNA. We all worship Mata to show our gratitude to mother-nature and for this ritual this Mata Annapoorna temple was established here.
